I help authors elevate, hone, and masterfully communicate their ideas, so that inspiring messages can take flight and have the impact the world needs.

Greta Myers

As a WSJ bestselling ghostwriter and the founder of Alight Writing, I serve mission-led authors as an elite ghostwriter, editor, and book coach. Before starting my own company, I rose to the top of a pool of outstanding creatives at Scribe Media, working exclusively with Elite and VIP authors, and providing expert book coaching at Scribe’s in-person Guided Author conferences.

My work with Alight Writing seeks to empower servant leaders and world changers to broadcast their messages of help and hope, so that everyone touched by their books is better equipped to pursue abundant life.

Insistence on excellence

Before my career as a ghostwriter, I worked as a high-school English teacher. These experiences as a teacher—steeping in good literature, breaking down complex ideas into engaging instruction, and focusing always on empowering my students to become their best selves—all directly translate into my work now as a ghostwriter.

Using those same skills, I help my authors make their concepts accessible and compulsively readable, so their readers are empowered to thrive.

“Greta and I worked together on my USA Today and WSJ bestselling book and I am forever grateful for her contributions. She’s a master at walking the tightrope of coach, taskmaster, psychologist, writer, editor, and at times, cheerleader.

Greta has high standards and simply refused to allow either of us to deliver anything but our best. She made me want to be better. I’m grateful to have had her as a partner on my project and now consider her a friend.”

-Kyle McDowell, author of Begin With WE

“As a manuscript collaborator & ghostwriter, Greta is intentional, compassionate, and service-minded. Her backlist of successful, high quality projects is a direct result of her absolute dedication to supporting authors, drawing in all resources, and not resting until the work is truly at its best. By working with Greta on your manuscript, you gain more than an incredible collaborator.

You gain a steadfast companion through the book-writing process, a journey that often feels lonely. I highly recommend Greta for ambitious projects that involve a meticulous eye and a truly human heart. She is the writer you need to make a positive impact upon your readers.”

-Rose Friel, Publishing Consultant & Matchmaker -Foreword Literary Consulting

“I went through two other companies and four other ghostwriters before I met Greta… She has a knack and a vision and a gift—she sees an entire paragraph before I’ve even finished speaking it, and she knows exactly where it needs to go. I’m amazed by the talent that she has.”

-Jefferson K. Rogers, bestselling author of ALL IN

"No words can describe how deeply thankful I am for Greta's partnership in the making of The Inner Game. You were my foundation!"

Alight Writing: Mission

In all things, I am motivated by my Christian faith. I take seriously the instruction from Colossians 3:23: “In whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as though working for the Lord and not for men."

For this reason, my purpose with Alight Writing is to partner with mission-driven authors to provide hope and help through the written word, so that everyone the book touches is empowered to live into freedom and abundant life.

  • This means book projects should provide hope (e.g. memoir, a way out of being stuck, inspiration, spiritual direction)

Or help (values-driven strategies that can help people serve more effectively, lead in a healthier way, create more thriving for their teams, etc.)

Everyone the book touches: This means me, you, and readers are encouraged, helped, inspired, and empowered through the book writing process. If one or more people do not experience these effects, we've done something wrong.

Empowered: Books that come through Alight should provide tools, strategies, or helpful mindset reframes that equip people to return to their contexts with greater strength and health.

Freedom: Freedom encompasses lives defined by health, peace, wholeness, healing, forgiveness, grace, joy, the recognition of nuance and complexity, and service to others. It does not include lives characterized by fear, the pursuit of fame, anxiety, the pursuit of wealth at the expense of others, one-ups-manship, divisiveness, or any kind of thinking that marginalizes another people group.

Abundant life: As expressed in the Bible, abundant life includes love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. It means we experience peace that surpasses all understanding. It means we have hope in a kingdom that is unshakeable. It means we live for what is eternal.

It means we allow hardships to shape our souls in ways that make us more like Christ, trusting that all things can be used for good toward this end. It means we love wholeheartedly, serve readily, feel the power and freedom to put others first, cultivate habits of health, foster spiritual and relational intimacy, and experience provision for our needs.
